The History of the Liberty Party

The Liberty Party, although seemingly quite a recent party, in fact traces its roots back to an ancient Hyperborean tribe, which became an aristocratic family, then a political party with extreme left-wing views, and now the centre-left major party it is today.
The Dragons of the East.
The Seri Tribe was once part of the great Hyperborean Great Tribe, known as the Drerkotestek, or "Dragons of the East", from East Hyperborea. Their dragon symbol came from this. The Dragons of the East were said to be descended from the Hyperborean god Estek, one of the four major male gods of the Northern Mountains.
The Seri Tribe.
The Seri Tribe got their name from the Marlovian word "Ser" meaning "keep". The Seri were "keepers". There are theories to how this name came about - maybe they kept a special object, or secret, or were goalkeepers when playing football. The main theory is that they hoarded things - thus their symbol of a dragon. They followed the Marlowi Tribe into Marlovia, and established themselves in Central Marlovia, later pressing on to the South.

The House of Surry came from the House of Surrye, one of the Ancient Houses of Marlovia, dating back to the 800. They traditionally allied with the House of Tothe (the Tothes, many hundreds of years later, became the Health Party). The heads of the house were originally the Lords of Surrye, after the town of Surrye in Marlovia, near Londinium. The people of Surrye were desended from the Seri Tribe of Hyperborea.
The House of Surry.
While the Nobs and the Perries were fighting during the Rebellion and the Civil War - this was before they became true political parties - the House of Surry decided to involve themselves. They briefly supported the Nobs, then the Perries, and constantly switched between the sides, before deciding to become neutral. This was during the 16th century. Two hundred years later they declared themselves a political party.
The Party of the Surries.
The Surries were founded in the 1780s. Originally a hereditary party led by the Surry Family, the hereditary system was suddenly overthrown. Most parties did this. The Surries took this slightly further, and crucified the original Surry family. They then declared they believed in Independance and Liberty, and sought to overthrow the government and the monarchy - though their ideas grew less radical over time.

Gerald Dundain, the first Liberty
Party Prime Minister.
The Liberty Party emerged from a minor party known by their nickname the "Surries". During the Offclepe Movement of the early nineteenth century, they changed their name, playing on their libertist beliefs.
Liberty Party's Rise to Power.
The Liberty Party, founded in the early nineteenth century, gained prominence during the 1880s and 90s. The Lords Party was becoming too powerful, but the Workers Party had gone seriously down-hill, so the left-wingers were left with no-one to vote for. Gerald Dundain, Leader of the Liberty Party, was an entrepreunerial man, and saw the opportunity. Investing heavily in the garden gnome industry, he made lots of expensive advertisements, with slogans such as "Looking for Liberty? You've Found It At Last!"
Liberty Party's Premiership.
The next general election rolled around, and the Liberty Party won by an overwhelming majority. Dundain became Prime Minister, but was quickly assassinated by political opponents. Nevertheless, the Liberty Party continued to lead the country, despite several more assassinations of its members over the following months.
